The estuary in Newport is home to many seabirds and for those interested in seeing dolphins, grey seals and puffins and much more trips can be easily arranged.
Golf, mountain bike riding, fishing, boating, horse riding and many more activities are available locally. The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path runs through Newport and The Celtic Trail Cycling route has links to Newport.
There is much interest in arts and crafts in the area and a variety of festivals are held within the region.
Newport has a Norman castle and there is much evidence of ancient Celtic occupation – the stones at Stonehenge were quarried from Carn Ingli which is in Newport, and Castle Henllys, which was a Celtic settlement is only four miles from Newport. The views from Carn Ingli are spectacular, and the streets and estuary have an individual charm
